The working principle of progressive distributor is to discharge lubricant from each oil outlet in turn through the reciprocating motion of the internal piston. When the lubricant enters the distributor, it pushes the piston forward, and the lubricant is compressed and stored in the chamber behind the piston. As the piston continues to move, when it reaches the position of a certain oil outlet, the valve of the oil outlet will open and the lubricant will be released to the lubrication point. Then, the piston continues to move forward and repeats the above process.

The structure of the progressive distributor usually consists of a starting plate, an end plate and at least three intermediate plates. Each intermediate plate is equipped with a working piston and two oil outlets, located on the left and right sides of the intermediate plate. This design allows the fluid to pass through the distributor smoothly and evenly.
